I just purchased an LG Ally on 9/6/10 from Verizon. However, there was not a users guide CD included in the package I received. Needless to say I’m still trying to figure out how to do some of the basic tasks on this phone. I believe Verizon has not provided me what I paid for. Hence, after a long relationship (14 years) with Verizon, it is probably time for me to look for a new service provider. I do not expect any assistance from Verizon as they are fast becoming known as a poor service provider.
Verizon has stopped providing a CD with the user manual — and now doesn’t even give customers who have purchased the phone a link to the manual.
Is there any way to download pictures from the LG Ally to a file in my computer, via the USB port?
Or do you have to send yourself an e-mail with the picture(s) attached?

This website is the worst. I tried to print the user guide for LG Ally and it will only print 26 pages out of 307. That sure isn’t going to help me!!!!
How can I download a USB driver for the Ally for FREE? Where can I find it?
i want to log in to yahoo messenger and receive notification when I receive a messenge on messenger….but can’t find the feature to enact the alert….and even if I sign in to phone when logging out of messenger it doesn’t always stay signed into phone from messenger…… any help would be great

I purchased an LG Ally just a few weeks ago. It came with a small book but only shows tips on doing little things. Came with an SD card but the phone keeps telling me that the card is not installed, when it is. I have problems turning it off, if I go through and clear all emails and text messages and actually take battery out and put it back in it will shut off. I am not happy with this phone and the service our store offered saying it is the phone and it is fine. That they all work this way. I need a real manual to figure this thing out. Any suggestions?
Heather: I had the same issue. You must first do a proper formatting of the SD Card and get it recognized by the computer. There are utilities on web that will allow you to format / mount the SD Card and view it like a USB. From there it is a simple copy and paste. If you want album art (etc) added to the music files, copy it into the folder with the music. Some of this tedious work is all about being computer savvy to get the data moved across one system to another. If you know how to organize files in a computer it should be easy.
I also recently purchased an Ally and am having trouble figuring out the most basic functions.
How do you delete individual text messages? I did it by accident once but haven’t been able to figure it out since. My only option seems to be deleting an entire thread. I would prefer not to do that if at all possible.
Go to read the message that you want to delete it, then choose the delete button at the bottom of text box
My wife’s LG Ally’s touchscreen no longer works. She can function, however at a lot slower way, by using the slide out keyboard. However, is there a way she might have accidentally disabled the touchscreen? Or is this something that needs fixed?

My LG Ally shows that I am out of text message space and the phone is low on or out of storage. I have deleted all text message threads but the device still says that I have no text message space and is turning down incoming text messages. I have deleted apps and devices that I don’t use but still show that I have no space. I have searched the online manual to no avail. Help.
Can somebody tell me how to change the wallpaper on the gallery of my LG Ally phone?
The home screen wallpaper is fine, but the gallery paper looks like a suggestive blob.
