How to Download and Install the Droid x PC Charging Driver

Download and Install the Motorola Droid x PC Charging Driver

1.  Click the Motorola Droid x PC Charging Driver link for your phone to download the PC charging driver.
Note: Please note the driver download location. It will be needed in Step 7.

2.  Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.
Note: Your phone must be powered ON.

3.  Select NO when phone displays “Connect phone as a storage device?”

4.  Windows will prompt it found new hardware and will recognize the phone.
Note: The W230 is used in this example.

5.  The Found New Hardware wizard will launch.

6.  Select “Install from list or specific location (Advanced)” and click Next.

7.   Browse to the driver location noted from Step 1 and click Next.

The wizard will install the driver.

8.  A successful driver installation screen will be displayed.

9.   Your phone can now charge via the computer’s USB port.
