How to fix Weather App Not Working issue for Verizon HTC DROID Eris Android 2.1 update

I’m a little disappointed , I have met two issues Since I update my Verizon HTC Droid Eris OS to Android 2.1, one the
No HTC clock widget Issue that I have just solved it, the other is the Weather App Not Working issue, however, It seems that this is a serious problem, I nearly have tried all the ways to fix it, but sasly, I can’t figure it out.


Any other users have the same problem for your HTC Droid Eris Android 2.1 update? And how do you fix it？Personally, I hope Verizon will give us a response as soon as possible.

    You have to turn on autosync through sync and accounts under settings. If you don’t do it this way the weather will not update. After you turn autosync on, you can set your weather settings. Then restart phone. This did the trick for me, good luck!

    My wife’s Eris is having the same problem, and it’s not that it doesn’t update (like renee is saying), but that it crashes every time she tries to load it.

    I have the same phone and for some reason, mine has no problems loading the Weather.

    I have fixed my HTC Droid Eris weather issue from the 2.1 update. Steps I did to do this fix:

    1. went into the Settings > Applications
    2. find all the HTC weather apps. & touch them, then touch Clear Data.
    3. exit and re-boot the phone.
    4. when phone comes back up, go into the Apps. > Weather and open this app. The weather should come up with no issues. Then go to the Home page and touch the weather there and same thing, no forced shutdown.

    I hope this works for many of you as it has worked for me and several workmates.
