I followed your instructions, but I still don’t know how to set personal ringtones to my friends contacts. I don’t want the crappy ones that come with the phone, I want to use my own ringtones that are saved in my phone.

To use your own MP3s you have to go into your Music – click on each song – Menu Button – “Use as a Ringtone”
Then once you have added all the songs you want to go back into your contacts with the instructions listed above & your MP3s will be in your Ringtone List.
to do that all u have to do is go to ur music and then hold on ur song that u want and put it as a ringtone then u go into the contact u want to set a ringtone as and click the menu button and then scroll thru ur songs and put that one to the contact
also use a torrent file so u dont have to pay for songs
