After so long waiting, Rim today fianlly announces the new smarphone - blackberry storm2 9550 for us. It is reported that the Vodafone UK will be offering the BlackBerry Storm2 free from £35 per month on a 24-month contract on October 26th, and verizon will also release the storm2 after Vodafone in November for about $200. The blackberry Storm2 works with BlackBerrry OS 5.0, and also is equiped with SurePress technology used to interact with the phone. Rather than provide physical feedback via the clicking screen. In addtion, the device’s On-board storage has been upgraded from 1GB to 2GB, and it supports microSD cards up to 32GB. Also it sttill sports quad-band GSM/EDGE and 2100MHz HSDPA as the orignal version.
Rim doesn’t mention whther the Vodafone version works with CDMA network or not, but the original Storm had both CDMA and GSM radios on board and was also sold by Vodafone and Verizon. The Storm2 other features include Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and video capture and Wi-Fi.
