When I sync my music files the MP2s default to “My Music.” How do I put them in “My Sounds” folder when downloading from my computer?

  2. go to listen to them one by one, them to select it as ringtones

  3. denny says:

i did this but the ringtone sound is very low…is there anything that can be done about that?

  4. No, the rintones soud is default, you can’t change it

  5. Ethan says:

For other sound files, such as WAV, that you would like to set as a ringtone, there is a utility called QCP_PureVoice (free to d. and use). This is a tool made by QualCom (maker of many cell chips) that will convert wav files to qcp. QCP is the standard ringtone format. Then you can simply use the transfer built into the phone or BitPim to transfer the file over cable/bluetooth/ir to the ringtone folder.

I can’t figure out how to do that. What exactly do you do?

  7. Jacob says:

I barely got the new Lg touch from alltel and I can’t seem to put any ringtones on it. I wonder if there is a way to do it. It says i can only put DRM protected things on there. So if anyone knows how to do this then please tell me.

  8. Brooke says:

I’ve tried listening to them one by one–any more helpful hints? I can’t seem to get my music to ringtones–there isn’t anything to do to select it as a ringtones..

  9. Nancy says:

You can probably do this for ringtones by moving it to sounds, but this totally worked for me to move mp3s to My Music instead of My Sounds.

You can add songs to my music by accessing “browse devise” from your bluetooth menu and the folder “my music” (along with others for pictures etc.) will pop up. Just drag the mpegs you want to that folder and it will start downloading.

I found the easiest way is to connect the phone to your computer with a USB cable. A dialog box will open on the phone, click data mode.
Go into your tools menu on the phone and select Mass USB. then simple copy the mp3s into the my_sounds folder in explorer

I have a micro SD card and I can get the MP3s (that I made specifically to be ringtones) into the “My Sounds” folder. Unfortunately once I go to “options” the option “set as” never shows up! This is the option that will let you set sounds as ringtones but I can’t do it! I can’t believe in this day and age how backwards some phones are. I had no problem at all with my old Rival phone.

all you need to do is put it on the memory card in my sounds then set as ringtone. this is how i did it

  14. Alicia says:

Thank you so much, this was extraordinarily helpful!!!! Worked like a charm and all I had to do was get the USB Mass Storage sync and I could manually place the song I put on my phone into the “my sounds” folder! Again thank you so much!!!

  15. Jenn says:

No method has come close to working for my LG Touch, except Adam’s USB Mass Storage. I just cant get the songs to my_sounds. fml.
