Well damn. Says it supports Win2000 SP4, but it does not.
I am getting a “procedure entry point” Kernel32.dll error – and everything I can find says that is due to a procedure call based on XP or Vista architecture.
I know – get an XP box, but this is a government office, and that’s just not going to happen soon.
Other suggestions?
The outlook calendar sync function does not capture the “Location” field from Outlook. This field is generally used to hold the call to phone number & access codes for the meeting. Without this data the meeting notice is useless without a meeting location to call into.
Got all installed 2 weeks ago and sync worked reasonably well. Calendar items were 1 hour off, but then I noticed that the phone’s timezone was set to Detroit rather than Chicago. Don’t yet know if that will fix calendar time transfers, because this week (no software/firmware changes to computer or phone)the software (neither LGsync nor BitPIM) does not recognize the phone. Uninstalled driver and LGsync, then reinstalled both; still no recognition.
Ideas, anyone?
This is for Randy. I had the same issue and removed both programs from my computer and re-installed them. Now it works fine.
I got the EnV3 a few months ago, downloaded the Sync program and it worked great. Now my appointments are off by one hour when it syncs and I can’t get it to change. I’m running Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. Is there a fix? Do I have to call tech support? I tried the removing and reinstalling technique and it hasn’t seem to work.
I think the hour off issue is related to the change in daylight savings time. Any reoccuring appointment I have that was created before the last change in DST, are off by one hour. If I change the beginning time until after DST, the hour off issue does not occur. I am actually utilizing the 1.0.0.21 version of the LG Sync (emailed from LG) on my touch which is updated to V09. I just gave up with the hour off thing. Normal single appointments are usually fine.
My env3 was great right up to daylight savings time. I’ve learned this is not a Verizon issue. It is solely an LG issue. They have yet to develop an operational Windows 7 compatability for these phones. After 3 calls to the LG techs, they promise a team is working on it 24/7 but so far, nothing. I’m still an hour late on my Outlook calendar and cannot find an updated download/firmware. I don’t remember paying for a lesson in patience, but sometimes we get more than we bargained for. PLEASE hurry LG!!!
I too have the hour time difference on all of my appointments which really sucks and almost caused me to miss an important meeting. As a short term fix I have told the computer that Miami does not use DST and it kind of works. I just have to remember to turn off DST, sync the phone and then turn it back on. It messes up the whole day events but those are mostly birthdays so that isn’t that big of a problem right now.
LG, fix this soon!!!! it cant be that tough to fix. Does anyone know if this problem is limited to Win7 boxes or does Win XP have the same issue? I guess I could sync with one of the XP boxes if I had to…
I talked to LG… they said it was a Verizon issue so they connected me to Verizon. I got a great rep there, Tondelya B. who had never heard of this problem but was good enough to research it while I was on the phone and went the extra mile to call LG and conference them in.
This time LG suggested updating the software on the phone… I already had and Todelya confirmed this. He then said it was a problem with Verizon but with a competent tech on the line, well it quickly became apparent that as someone else posted, it has to be a LG problem.
The only remaining suggestion was to email LG and hope that a bunch of emails will get the attention of LG’s IT department so this bug gets to the front of the bug fix queue faster…
I just got the LG EnV3 and downloaded the sync feature. Was all excited to be able to have my calendar with me at all times since I live by the calendar. And, now I am sadly disappointed that someone hadn’t thought about daylight savings time when they designed this software. Not like it something new. If someone figured out something to fix it please let me know.
Just loaded MS Outlook and the sync software for my LG Env Touch. How do I sync the two? I can find the phone but it wants to sync music – not the calendar? Any help of where to go to find the details on how to “get started” to set up everything correctly? Thanks!
Since the calendar does not work due to the DST problem it really doesn’t matter that much that the calendar won’t sync.
That being said, go into settings and tell the phone to prompt on plugging into a usb port. When you plug it in, just push ok then end. so the phone is not seen as music or data. It will then sync.
Was able to easily workaround the issue. The issue is being passed from the windows os DST option in the Control Panel. It is passing an additional hour to the phone when a sync of calendar is being done( Both single and series items). Each time before sync from computer to phone temporarily turn off the DST adjustment. All items should pass correctly with new DST adj. Don’t forget to recheck the DST option on the computer after sync:)
Des anyone know if it is possible to synch google calendar with an LG cosmos phone without outlook?
Of course, it is possible
I wonder if they will have an update to support Outlook 2010
Of course, they will, but it’s not now
I too an having the one-hour-off synch issue? When should a fix be expected?
I too have the one hour difference when sync together. I was going to purchase a different phone (black berry), but wasn’t concern about emails… only calander, and didn’t want to pay for the data plan upgrade w/ the BB. Now that it doesn’t sync properly I am very frustrated an annoyed. I am very unhappy w/ the phone for several reasons, but if the sync worked I would have been satisfied.
Turn off “Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings time” in Windows. Sync your device. Then turn on “Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings time” It’s a pain but it will have to do until LG gets it’s act together.
I had an old Samsung, could sync with Outlook for free – no data plan or anything. bought a Samsung Reality, with a 9.99 data plan – was assured at the store I could get it to sync with Outlook. It doesn’t. I’m returning it – I want a phone with no more than a 9.99 data plan. Will the LG Env3 sync with Outlook without the 29.99 data plan?
What am I missing? I’ve installed the driver for the Outlook sync on my laptop with Vista. It installes correctly, I see it in Device Manager with the installed Com port, I try to configured it in Wingows Mobile Device Center but it never shows connected. It says “Waiting for device to connect”. What am I missing?
Thanks
I purchased the LG ENV3 for the lone reason that I would be able to sync my calendar between my phone & PC. I did not need email, texting and the added expense of a data plan.
When the sync time is an hour off it becomes virtually useless.
I purchased the Datapilot LG kit that I had hope would resolve the problem, but it requires another calendar to monitor besides Outlook and the one on my phone.
I suppose I’ll have to invest in a Blackberry or other smartphone.
Eileen… the LG ENV3 does sync without the added expense of the data plan, however the sync is off by an hour.
Its a simple process other than the time conflict. I’ve decided to just made edits immediately after the sync. Its inconvenient, but I can live with it until I have a need for the data plan (email & texting).
The DataPilot might be your answer. The cost was about $25.
I have the enV Touch and addresses with the contacts won’t sync. Anyone else have this problem. I chatted with LG support and they say the program can’t do it but there will be an update to it. Well, why then does the program specifically say it had an error and it can’t sync the address? Anyone else have any thoughts or suggestions?
Supposedly “this lg Outlook Sync is a tool to syn your MS Outlook data with your LG devices.”
Based on the comments above, the App does sync Outlook Calendar entries with the Calendar App on the env3/VX9200.
My MS Outlook has other data: Contacts and To-Do List data. Does the Outlook “Contacts” data synch with the Env3′s Phonebook? What about Outlook’s To-Do data — does it also get sync’ed with something on the Env3?
I sure could use a good “list maker” App on my Verizon Env3 !
I got both the modem driver and msi installed successfully. Sync “seems” to work, in that it goes from zero to 100% as it apparently syncs. But when I check my phone calendar there is nothing there, and when I look at the report it is all zeros. So nothing really transferred. I have the enV touch. Tried various options and still nothing. Syncs every time, but nothing actually transfers. Any ideas?
I cant get this to work on my windows etc… HELP!!
All “contact” fields will transfer except
address and picture fields. MS Outlook address and picture fields cannot be transferred to the phone and vice versa because of the limitations of the phone.
No answer for the “To-Do” data.
Thank you very much, works great in MS Outlook 2007 running on windows 7. I love it!!!
Thanks for the great info. I, too, was having an issue with the 1-hour off thing. I did as Dave (5/19) suggested and it’s all good. Hopefully they will get this fixed soon!
