Unfortunately, the LG Outlook Sync program does not work properly with Outlook. Only the Contacts will sync properly. Calendar sync will not work. I have worked with LG Tech Support (very disapointing) and others to resolve. See posts in the LG folder of the LG Community for more details.
Thanks for the post! I was really tired of not having my contacts. I installed this on Windows 7 RC too. The LG updater software wont work, but the syncing did. Not sure about Calendar though.
I have been trying to overcome the inability to sync my calendar. No matter what I did I didn’t seem to get it to work. Then when I used “Restore” instead of the normal sync function it updated my device calendar.
Omigosh, works like a charm! Installed with no problems, and I was able to set it to sync my calendar only, which it did, flawlessly. Thanks a million!!
Prior to purchasing the env touch, I searched to see if it would sync with Outlook. I landed here and based on the comments I was concerned that it would not work.
In an online chat with Verizon they assured me the touch could be sync’d with outlook contacts and calendar. I replied with a link to this blog and several others. After a really long time, the Verizon rep (through online chat) said sync would work and if it did not, I could exchange the phone. (And was I ready to by a new phone right now…)
I am happy to say that I have sync’d my new env touch with my outlook contacts. Inexplicably, it seems the calendar sync is with events in the past. You probably noticed that you can choose to sync several time intervals from the past. I chose two weeks and sure enough, two weeks of events from the past where sync’d. None from the future. I don’t really use my phone to keep up with my calendar. But it seems (again, inexplicably and I could be wrong) that it sync’s with your past events not the future. I hope I am wrong, but I do know that I can look at my new phone and find out what I did for the last two weeks…;)
Next thing is to get POP email to work. In a call and the same online chat as I mentioned above, Verizon said POP email would work. Going there next. I’ll report back one way or another.
I installed as directed above and it worked right away. Outlook 2007, Win Vista Home, Env Touch. Thanks!!!
Just got a LG env touch. I am used to Windows Mobile where sycning is taken for granted. At first was disapointed that syncing wasn’t in the manual. But after a little googling, found this site. Ran the install. I’m sync’d with Outlook 2003!!
Now to find a tool that will let me sync or simply put my Windows Media Player media files to a the LG env touch storage card (micro sd) in a manner that LG’s media player will recognize the media files (without having to install yet another media player such as Rapsidy). Again, this was a no brainer with Windows Mobile. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your assistance in this!!!
Figured it out…. I’m liking this phone more and more….
Once you figured out how to get the phone’s storage card to show in Windows Explorer; it simply becomes a drag a drop exercisse.
The trick seems to be to get the storage card to show in Windows Explorer :>)
Maybe there is an easier way but this is the proceedure I found on another site:
First, before you start:
A. Make sure you downloaded and installed (on your PC) the LG USB driver.
B. Insert and format your micro SD card. You’ll need your phone’s lock code (which be default is the last four digits of your phone number) to execute the Format. NOTE: Formating will create a number of folders on the SD card. The one used for music (audio files) is entitled: “my-music”
Then:
1. Connect the phone to PC
2. Simply ignore what is on the phone’s display
3. Navigate to settings & tools > tools > USB mass storage.
4. The PC and Phone connect and the SD card then shows up in Windows Explorer as a “Removable Disk()” under “My Computer”
5. Drag folders (from My Documents\My Music) that contain your music to the “my-music” folder on the “Removable Disk()” under “MyComputer”.
6. Once the copying comletes, select “Exit” on the Phone
7. Go to the “Home” screen
8. Navigate to My Music”
9. Watch the phone find and categorize the new music
10. Then make your selection by artist, etc…
11. Play your newly loaded music.
The player seems to organize the music a bit better than Win Mobile (at least for the material that I have).
Nice Phone…. I think I’m going to enjoy this device. :>)
Cheers!
7. Go to
Go to On the touchscreen, click on drop to drop the music connection. Go to
LG tech support just told me that an update at the end of the month should fix the calendar sync’ing issues. I’ll wait and see.
Scott,
Thanks for the update. Guess I have to wait ’til end of month.

I see from the previous posts that Outlook Sync worked successfully with Outlook 2007 and 2003. I have Outlook 2002. Does anyone know if it will work with Outlook 2002? I am mainly concerned with being able to maintain a simple calendar on my Env3.
Thanks in advance!
Any idea how to sync other LG phones with outlook? 3rd party apps maybe?
I ever had the lg vu, but it also has its special Sync software.
To Glen: Yes, MS Outlook 2002 is supported.
To Glen: This is copied from the requirements section of the software.
Before using the LG Outlook Sync, please make sure that
ü You should have Administrator privilege in your PC.
ü Microsoft Outlook should have installed.
ü Your PC should support USB port and USB cable for LG device should be available to connect your device to PC.
ü Your PC should have LG USB Modem Driver installed so that PC recognizes your device.
ü Your PC specification should meet following Requirement
1. Hardware
CPU: Pentium II or higher
Memory: 64MB or Higher
Video Display: Minimum 800 × 600 Resolution, 16 bit Color
Hard disk: Minimum 10MB of available space
2. Software
Operating System : Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows XP, Windows Vista 32bit/64bit
Supported Microsoft Outlook: MS Outlook2002, MS Outlook2003, MS Outlook2007
I have the env3 and this software worked perfectly for me with Outlook 2007 and Windows XP with service pack 2 installed. Very nice to be able to backup/restore as well.
I have an env3 and sync with LG Outlook sync (outlook 2007)and having a problem with the addresses not syncing. Everything else seems to be syncing fine. What am I doing wrong?
Please note that the number of contacts and calendar events that can be stored in the device is limited and is different between devices. So in some cases not all the calendar and contact information will be synchronized. Please refer to the User Manual which comes with your device to check how many contacts and calendar event can be saved in your device.
I got my contacts onto the LG env3 from MS Outlook 2002, but only “name-email-phone”. I cannot get the mailing addresses to go. Anyone with some know-how on this?
The sync software can sync mailing addresses? Is it possible?
I just received my enV Touch today. Thanks to you I finally got the USB cable driver installed after a lot of frustrated searching. I don’t use Outlook email, and wonder whether Mozilla’s Thunderbird or any other mail program is supported? I’m afraid to check the LG site since it is so poorly organized and the search function is useless! Thanks!
The mailing addresses are stored in Outlook. I could sync all of it on the blackberry but not the LG. So i dont know if it is possible – that’s the question.
The first time I synched with Outlook using the LG utility, 300 items came across which “filled up” the phone memory. I then added more things to my master Outlook calendar. The synch program wouldn’t add them because the phone memory was “full”.
So I deleted all of the items in the phone calendar, thinking that that would clear out the calendar memory and when I next synched that the first 300 items would transfer. NOPE! Only the new items transferred. The phone seems to think that because I deleted them out of the phone’s calendar once, I no longer want them in the calendar.
Help? How do I reset the phone calendar back to neutral so that it will accept the information in my master calendar back onto the phone.
I’ve seen the suggestions on other forums to use syncell instead of the LG utility, but the computer with the master calendar is an older desktop without Bluetooth.
I installed the sync software on two pc’s – one with Vista and Outlook 2003, and one with XP and Outlook 2007 (home & work PC’s). Then synced the calendar from each PC to the Touch – all events were copied which was great. However the ones from the XP/Outlook 2007 PC were off by an hour. Any ideas?
it may meet some problem, do your try it again?
I have played with this some more, trying several different PC configurations (combinations of Outlook 2003 or 2007 and Windows XP, VIsta or Windows 7). In most all combinations the date on the phone gets set to an hour later than is in Outlook.
I also tried it with Outlook configured to account for Daylight savings and then not to – I thought that could be the difference but it didn’t affect it.
Rod: I have the same problem with the calendar events being one hour later. I have also tried changing some settings, without success.
Can anyone out there help with this issue?
I had Outlook 07 syncing with my google calendar. After installing the LG syncing program for my EnV3, I can’t get Outlook to sync with Google Calendar. Anyway to have it syncing with both? Basically, I want to get my google calendar to my EnV3. Thanks for any help!
i’m sorry to tell you the lg syncing software only supported Microsoft Outlook: MS Outlook2002, MS Outlook2003, MS Outlook2007
Hi,
Any updates on the “one hour issue”? All Outlook calendar synced for me as well but is an hour late in my phone. Thanks!
I have Outlook 2007 and vista. I can not get the calender to sync at all and LG support just says it will not work with Vista. Reading the blog several people have outlook 2007 and Vista and the calender is working. HOW? Any tips?? I put All for calender events, I used restore, backup, but just does contacts.
Has anyone tried the software with Outlook 2000? (I know…I’ll upgrade soon!)
the number of contacts and calendar events that can be stored in the device is limited and is different between devices. So in some cases not all the calendar and contact information will be synchronized. Please refer to the User Manual which comes with your device to check how many contacts and calendar event can be saved in your device.
Outlook 2000 is not supported
My outlook contacts synched with my envtouch contacts, but thay are arranged alphabetically by the first name instead of the last name. Does any one know of a fix for this?
When you sync your outlook calendar to your LB Env phone, it only allows for past calendar events not future, but to overcome this, change the date on your PC clock to a month in advance until Verizon fixes this issue. It will download upcoming events this way, which is what I need it to sync to my phone for anyway. Hope Verizon gets a fix to this sooner rahter then later!
Bry: 1st name/last name for contacts bothers me, too.
With OutlookSync v1.0.0.19, my EnV Touch has been fine, except for the address issue. I wish they’d fix that one.
Need the connector necessary to download my pics to from my phone to my computer…..what do I need??
use the usb driver or lg Outlook Sync Software download pics from your phone to PC via a usb cable
Wondering about the sync issue with the times being one hour behind what they are on outlook?
thanks for your help!
I am trying to sync my outlook calendar. I downloaded the driver but my computer can’t see my env touch when it is on the “data” sync mode. I know my computer’s modem doesn’t work but I am using the usb cable. any ideas?
You mean all the data cann’t be seen/ if so, I think you must have maken a mistake when connecting
sync went fine, there’s my stuff in the calendar (I only had a few things there); the contacts came through fine.
But, the method of getting to my mail box eludes me so far. I find it hard to believe the only way I can get to place where I can enter the url is that kludgy arrow thing. No tab key.
And reading that I have to type a gmail message, but can only send it by closing and using the touch screen. well, I dunno. Had no problem getting to gmail and reading what was there, other than the basic problem of having to kludge around with the arrow keys.
Just went through the manual and lots of stuff there about the browser, everything except how to type in a url to go to. Instead, the url I laboriously type in gets searched for with BING, which apparently has no clue…
Will this software sync Outlook Express calender?
It will
I am having an hour behind issue on my contacts. I am in the central time zone.
I am having same problem as Laura. When I run the sync, the program shows items transferring (by % changing), but when it’s done, nothing has transferred. If I look for the phone in My Computer, it’s not there in data mode. In music mode, I can see the phone in My Computer and transfers go fine. Any thoughts?
Hello “verizon phones” – any chance of any update as to whether the “hour off” problem will be addressed? I would like to determine if app will become usable, or if I should look for another option. Thx
