Verizon Samsung Reality Tricks – Set/assign MP3 Files As Ringtones

April 26th, 2010 by verizon phones | Filed under Verizon Phone Problems and solutions.

Anyone know how to set mp3 files as ringtones on Verizon samsung reality? I have tried nearly all the methods, but i don’t success. I find Samsung official site shows we can’t assign mp3 as ringtones on samsun reality, as thereare no configurable options available to assign MP3 files as ringtones on the U820. Is it possible or not?

try funformobile.com’s uploader or possibly e-mail the ringtone to yourself, then you can save them in “my sounds”. I’m not sure if this’ll work with my reality yet, I’m testing it soon.

The only way I can see that works is to play the mp3 on your computer (full blast – as loud as poss) and record it using the sound recorder and then setting the recording as your ring tone. Not brilliant quality but better than nothing.

  3. Kall747 says:

You need to convert your mp3 to a qcelp format… there are alot of free programs to do this out there

EASY!! Save yer 30-40 second or looped tone somewhere on your computer. Once you locate the sound file, open up your email account. Compose a new message and attach the picture you wish to send. Now, for the recipient’s email address, enter your 10-digit phone number followed by “@vzwpix.com”. So if your phone number was (123) 456-7890, then you would type “1234567890@vzwpix.com” into the recipient field of your email client. You will soon get a picture/sound message on your cell phone. Then save the ringtone onto your cell phone!

You can make your own mp3 ringtones from any song in your library using Audacity.

Thank you Brrrring, it worked like a charm.

  8. B. Bunker says:

avs audio converter worked for me, the format to convert to is amr, or awb, I’m still learning the specific settings but amr works for sure, though audio quality is economy.

I tried to email mp3 ringtone, could not open attachment in email on the phone…..so……….um……….now what?

  10. mr_perfect says:

make your ring tone, get a friend to upload it to his phone and send it to you in a text and save it. Go to your my sounds folder and set it as a ring tone.

  11. Reality Mike says:

By the way, you can send multiple ringtones in your email. When you hear the tone play in your message then you can save it to your phone. It even recognizes the original name of your ringtone.

Brrrring thank you so much! I find out how to do this and you had such a simple solution! Not being able to just download ringtones to the phone by the USB cable was just about the only thing I didn’t like about the phone, but the e-mail fix you mentioned is almost as easy and worked flawlessly. Now I’ll finally be able to customize the phone the way I want to. Thanks again for the awesome tip!

  13. IM NOT PAYING! says:

Brrrring… just wanted to say thanks for your flawless yet simple method. I hate how verizon trys to get you to pay for EEEEVVVVERYTHINNNGG.. im not paying 2 dollars for every ringtone sorry verizon… Score this as one for the poeple and a loss for “The Man”

  15. DANIEL says:

Very very clever solution! thanks a million!

  16. Josh Carr says:

So i emailed 2 songs to my phone and they worked they stayed mp3 format and good quality. Now everytime i send a mp3 to my phone it changes to qcp and it awful quality

  17. Staci T. says:

I had to save mine in to My Sounds instead of as Ringtone, but the email trick still worked! Thank you!!!

  18. amanda says:

I found a easy way to do it..GOOGLE and DL a free QCP CONVERTER and convert all your mp3′s or songs to QCP format..then just directly move those QCP songs onto your card!! simpple..works =)

  19. tintin.tweet tweet says:

    THANKS A LOT !! :D

  20. Question says:

I do the email thing but keep getting “message size exceeds max limit” note. what’s up?

  21. JSinMCO says:

Did Question ever find a resolution to the “message size exceeds max limit”? I am getting that same message.

  22. It is not a problem, there is exceeds max limit with message size on any phone

  23. eureka says:

this site allows you to download whatever shareable music you have, cut it to whatever ringtone size you want, and set the format (qcp if you want to set it on my sounds on your sd card or mp3 for better sound quality but you have to use brrring’s way). Both ways worked great for me!

  24. George says:

    Thank you @Brrrring worked great!!!

  25. Julian says:

I don’t understand why everyone is kissing this Brrrring guys ass. I tried both his methods and converting to Qcelp was useless and emailing the picture with audio attached did nothing. All i ended up getting was the picture with no actual audio to save playing.

So in the end Brrrring and his ideas are complete bullshit so he should really keep them to himself. Any person who said it worked is probably full of shit too; or probably him posting as someone else to make people believe he actually knows what he’s talking about

  26. Natly says:

After 3 hours trying to figure this out, this simple email solution was all it took!! Thanks!!!
